I love painting. I have since I was a child. Colors, tones, and tints have always captivated me. Art was my first true love. It's the first real escape, a portal to another world where time and expression intertwine.

 

When my father passed away in 2015, I wanted to create paintings that were a testament to his beautiful life. From that desire, my photo-mosaic portrait style was born. I used almost 600 photos collaged together for the background and let each member of my family pick their favorite photo of him to be the template. Then, I painted the portraits on top.

 

It produced beautiful paintings, and now I make them on a commission basis. Weddings and engagements are my favorite events to paint! I also do memorial and retirement portraits and the occasional pet. I prefer to work in oil paint, which has an extended drying time, so the process from the time you give me all of your digital photos to completion can take a couple of months, depending on the complexity of the portrait. I can work in acrylic to meet a tighter deadline, but it will still take about three weeks to complete and ship. That time frame is an estimate, depending on how many commissions I've accepted.
